In this article I will be going into each player's stats in the Basketball Championship Game that were played during the 2021-2022 season - and discussing their stats throughout the whole year. The numbers aren't all perfect, but they're what we got from our sources.
7th overall pick by Spurs, NBA draft was held on April 5, 2015 in Philadelphia to select him out of Maryland in the 6th round, where he started for a team called New Jersey. He had some stellar games with his shot selection and defense, but also had trouble getting close enough to the hoop (9.9 percent). However, he is still one of the best bigs in the league! He is widely considered as one of the greatest NBA players ever.
One game I believe that can be summed up perfectly - If you have never watched any Basketball Show in your life, then it shows how good Devin Booker has been. When he goes off the bench against a point guard - like Kyrie Irving did against Stephen Curry - he just makes everyone around him look silly. A real showman of course! You see most people think that if you put Devin Booker in the lineup with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, or Luka Doncic, then he would lose so much because he doesn't look like his teammates! That's not true. It only takes a certain player that the other team is playing to knock them out.
8. Darius Leonard (21),
This might shock you because he's been named more times than me! But, we don't want him to feel left out! This guy is a beast out there. He has been compared to Michael Jordan when it comes to athleticism and speed but he does have strength and power that puts him in the top 10 list of elite forwards! His shooting percentage has also been ranked among the best ever across multiple teams. Although, we should also mention that he had to get drafted out of high school because of an injury that ended his college career prematurely! He only had two years left when he got hurt.
7. James Borrego (22),
He's another one who hasn't gotten many opportunities to play, unlike other guys on this list, but still had plenty of quality minutes - which I believe is very rare these days in sports! I was surprised because even though you are limited in how many minutes you get and the number of other guys available to play, there are always people around who want to bring you onto the court! Yes, he got injured at the end of last year, which led to another disappointing start for him.
6. Jaylen Brown (21);This guy might surprise you because he is a generational talent! If he doesn't make it to the final cut, then there isn't anyone else in the world that can replace him - because everyone is already looking at Kevin Durant and LeBron James as the current stars of this generation! His jump shot is insane; it has a 4.5% chance of missing. Even when he's getting fouled, he gets to shoot the ball through contact or with a fake layup - to try and get himself over. Most people think this is impossible.
Antwi-Mbambu is one of the biggest names of Africa. It's hard to keep track of whether he's here on Earth or outer space! Now, I'm sure that Antwi-Mbambu isn't in the NBA yet, because he is the first African American man to be chosen for the NBA Draft. At this point, he is probably the youngest NBA Player to come from Africa - making him one of the brightest faces of 2022. Not to mention being compared, despite not having the skills of a starter anymore! He's averaging 16 points per game while shooting 34.2 from 3-point range.
4. De'Aaron Fox (22) ;
Here comes next name in my Top 20... De'Aaron Fox!! He is easily the fastest rising star of 2022! I personally think that De'Aaron Fox would have made me move up a spot if someone had told me about him. There's no doubt about his potential, especially with his great size and athletic ability. Of course, like the rest of us, he'd likely need to develop a solid offensive role to succeed at the highest level in today's NBA!
3. Jaden McDaniels (23),
I really thought McDaniels got overlooked when it came to the draft last year, because it was the same type of position every year, where people liked to say "this player doesn't fit". Well, I guess they didn't know better! I'm pretty sure when he went down for medical reasons, a lot of people said to themselves, "well, he's old" or "he's too skinny" because they saw all the pictures online - and then they would realize later that McDaniels wasn't fat like they thought. Once he came back and showed up with his body after surgery, they realized that he was still the complete package! We just didn't see him play until summer training camp (and then immediately realized that he was one of the smartest young men in the league... who couldn't be!).
2. Malik Monk (23) :
Malik is actually quite similar to Ja Morant. They both shoot from beyond the arc, have extremely long arms - something I've found necessary to succeed on the court! Both of them are incredibly skilled defenders as well, because without them you'd be just as vulnerable. One thing that we should keep in mind before you dismiss his candidacy: Monk is currently under contract with the Trail Blazers. So even if the Trail Blazers find another suitor, they'd still owe him $36 million dollars (and probably have to pay him $1 million in taxes as well!).
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo (24):
The Greek Freak is doing everything right in Atlanta! After coming off one of the worst seasons in basketball history, he took advantage of the opportunity to get some younger kids ready for the NBA. He came in as the #2 seed of the 2019 NBA Draft and has already won two championships since! Even if you take away the fact that he had to sign a new deal due to contracting COVID-19 last year, he is now 33 years old and playing 41 games last year - which is crazy considering.
